What we collect

When you request a scan, LinkWitness may process the submitted address, normalized hostname, observable technical signals, timestamps, source availability, and the resulting report. If you create monitoring or submit a correction, we may also process the contact information and evidence you provide.

Sensitive data

Do not submit passwords, payment card data, wallet keys, seed phrases, recovery codes, or private documents. Common secret-like query values are masked where feasible, but you should remove sensitive parameters before submission.

How data is used

We use submitted data to provide and secure the service, produce evidence reports, detect abuse, operate requested monitoring, review corrections, improve reliability, and meet lawful obligations. We do not sell submitted personal information.

Optional analytics

With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand page usage and product events such as a scan starting, completing, or failing. LinkWitness does not intentionally send the submitted address as analytics event data. Google Analytics is not loaded when you decline, and your choice is stored in your browser. You can reopen “Analytics settings” at any time to change it.

Public visibility

User-submitted reports are not intended to become automatically indexed public pages. A report may be accessible to someone who possesses its report link or access capability. Do not share a report link if it contains information you wish to keep private.

Retention

We retain structured report and audit data only as long as reasonably needed for service delivery, security, corrections, dispute handling, and legal obligations. Short-lived technical artifacts, if collected, use a shorter lifecycle than structured findings. Retention may vary by record type and active dispute status.

Service providers and transfers

Infrastructure, security, and optional analytics providers may process limited data on our behalf under their applicable terms. Processing may occur in jurisdictions different from yours. We limit access according to operational need.

Your choices

You may request access, correction, or deletion of personal information by emailing report@linkwitness.com. We may need to verify your request. Security, audit, legal, and fraud-prevention requirements may limit deletion.

Policy changes

Material updates will be reflected by a new effective date on this page. Continued use after an update is governed by the revised policy.
